Community Wellness Practicum

The Community Wellness Practicum (HHP:3820) is an experiential learning course offered each spring and fall, which allows students to apply their knowledge and learn a health promotion related skill. Health Communication (Coming Fall 2024)

Students and future health professionals will apply their skills to create and disseminate health communication materials. Students will gain experience translating evidence-based information into shareable health education materials using multiple mediums including  videos, social media posts, blog posts, infographics, and flyers. Students will learn how to tailor communication materials to targeted populations. To learn more, click here

Culinary Medicine (Spring 2024)

This course is designed to expose students and future health professionals to the fundamentals of culinary medicine in order to both improve personal health and more effectively counsel clients, patients, and community groups on diet and nutrition. The emphasis of this course is on using fundamental culinary skills for the basic preparation of healthy and delicious whole foods. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice of fundamental culinary skills, students will learn the basics of culinary medicine. To learn more, click here
