What are the water consumption guidelines?
According to the Institute of Medicine:
- The average healthy male should drink 3.7 L or 125 fluid oz of water per day (approximately 1 gallon).
- The average healthy female should consume 2.7 L or 91 fluid oz of water per day (approximately 3/4 gallon).
- Water can be consumed in your diet through both liquids and food.
