Nutrition Counseling
Ready to make a change, but unsure how? Need extra support to get and stay on the right track? Student Wellness provides nutrition consultations. Our dietitian can help you with any of your nutrition needs ranging from food intolerances to creating a healthy eating plan on a budget.
Fitness Counseling
Physical activity is an important component in leading a healthy life. Student Wellness can help you reach your fitness goals. Our health educators can meet with you for a variety of fitness services:
- 1-on-1 consultations (discuss barriers, create goals, plan workouts, etc.)
- Equipment orientations and/or tips on weightlifting form
- Fitness testing (blood pressure, body fat, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility.
UI Faculty & Staff: liveWELL-Lifestyles
Available for University of Iowa Faculty and Staff. Both the Centers for Disease Control National Diabetes Prevention Program and the 10-Week Weight Management platform (powered by Wondr Health) have shown that active participants reduce their risk for chronic health conditions such as diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and some cancers, as well as orthopedic issues associated with being overweight or inactive.

MyFitness Pal
MyFitness Pal is a smart phone app and website that tracks diet and exercise. The app uses gamification elements to motivate users. To track nutrients, users can either scan the barcodes of various food items or manually find them in the app’s larger pre-existing database.
