HHP students continue to provide amazing programs for the community! Below are some programs that had tremendous success!
My City. My Health. Conference
The My City. My Health. Conference brought students and health and social justice advocates together to discuss challenges and opportunities to enhance well-being for all and improve health equity. Panels focused on Community Well-Being, Community Engagement, Research in Health Equity, and Culture in Healthcare. The conference was delivered by students in the Spring 2023 HHP:3820 Community Wellness Guided Practicum course and The Healthy Project.

This community program was designed to help get community members active. The event was held in the summer of 2021 at the Iowa City Downtown Block Party. While moving through the Olympic Village in Iowa City, Participants were encouraged to visit unique businesses, learn about Olympic sports, and earn stamps to become Champions of the Community. Winners were entered into drawings for different prizes.
A SURFING CHALLENGE IN RESILIENCE!
Each week participants received an email with challenges to improve their resilience skills to better surf the waves of life
ENJOY A "SNACK" OF INFORMATION
Each week HHP students delivered a health education presentation over the lunch hour for the community to join. Participants enjoyed a "snack" of information and strategies to improve their well-being!
GRATITUDE. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. SLEEP. NUTRITION. BUDGET
This 5-week program was designed to enhance participant's mental performance through gratitude, physical activity, sleep, nutrition, and budgeting. Participants tackled weekly challenges to improve their health and well-being by creating new habits!
