Fruits and Vegetables are a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Having enough vitamins and minerals lead to a healthier lifestyle with the absence of disease. Having an adequate amount of fruits and vegetables also allows for healthy gut bacteria to prevent constipation and other digestive issues. Guidelines to Fruits and Vegetables

The Nutritional Guidelines for Americans states that the average adult should be getting 2 cups of fruit and 3 cups of vegetables, as part of a healthy eating pattern. Depending on the age, sex, height, weight and level of physical activity of the individual, it might look different.
